V. Officer and Committee Reports:

 Treasurer’s report

Since the Treasurer position was open, Richard Dierking presented the report.

As of 04-06-07 , TRG has $166.00 in the cash fund.

Recently, TRG has obtained a sponsorship from Karlsson Brewing in Oregon for $125.00.  Because the club does not currently have a checking account, Richard Dierking is holding these funds.  TRG has received Karlsson Brewing’s logo in digital format and we now have special printer stock for placing decals on rockets.

Richard Dierking has obtained all the necessary information to open a checking account at Washington Mutual with no monthly charges.  This account should be open by the May meeting.  The new club Treasurer, Johnathan Budd received the TRG cash box, and will assist with opening the checking account.

 Section Advisor’s report

Richard Dierking briefed the Board and members present on the following club projects:

  • Brass Recycling
  • Participation in Bowling Ball Loft Contest at LDRS
  • Zion II Project
  • Karlsson Brewing Sponsorship

Richard Dierking advised to focus efforts on completing the rocket for the bowling ball loft contest and sponsorship project and postponing the Zion II project until the summer vacation months.  This proposal was unanimously approved by those present.

VI. Authorizations for Expenditures:

The Board unanimously approved to reimburse Richard Dierking $55.00 out of the cash fund for paying TRG’s annual NAR Section fee.

Sponsor Karlsson Brewing Project: Treasurer, Johnathan Budd and Vice President, Bryan Dierking volunteered to purchase a suitable high-powered rocket kit at the next ROC launch (April 14th) for approximately $100.00.  Richard Dierking will pay for the kit out of the $125.00 received for this project.  This was unanimously approved by all present.

VII. Future Activities: Review of April and May schedule

There are no anticipated changes to the April schedule.

The May schedule was reviewed and unanimously approved.

There will be special rocket building meeting on Saturday, May 5th for the Bowling Ball Loft rocket and tube launcher.

VIII. Member or Visitor Comments:

Kevin Yackley has developed a club website, temecularocket.com.  He suggested creating a website development committee, which was unanimously approved.  Members Patrick Bowlin, Johnathan Budd, Bryan Dierking, Nathan Mazelin, Jane Robertson, and Kevin King volunteered for this committee.  A special website development meeting will be arranged by Kevin Yackley.

Richard Dierking suggested that all members have name badges at club activities.  He will obtain name badges for the next meeting.

Bryan Dierking suggested that TRG launches have a more formal structure with a Range Safety Officer that would inspect all rockets prior to launch.  Additionally, he suggested that launch cards be available, and a visible indicator of range status (open or closed) be created.   Nathan Mazelin has created TRG launch cards, and Richard Dierking will have these printed for the April launch.  Bryan Dierking will create signs indicating range open (green) or range closed (red).  Richard Dierking will act as dedicated RSO at the next launch.

Jill King offered her expertise in marketing to promote future TRG activities.  This generous offer was welcomed by the Board.

.IX. Adjournment:

The meeting was adjourned at 4:40 PM .
